I had never heard of this 1994 short film until today.  I have to admit that it's pretty awful.  Nevertheless, here it is...

I present to you a photo taken at the Baltimore Comic Con of Stan Lee and me.  There were two other friends in the picture, but I cropped them out just in case they didn't want their images out there.  If you want to see the full picture, find me on Facebook.

First, I wanted to let listeners know that I am still here and recording.  July has been a challenging month for personal matters.

Second, I wanted to relate a personal best.  Last month (June), I set myself another 100 comics reading goal, and actually hit 142.  To my knowledge, this is the most I've ever read in a month.

Finally, the 5th anniversary of The Comic Book Attic is approaching, and this time, I want to put together a big episode (which for me means about an hour).  This may actually end up being the next episode, so look for it on or around August 11.

Just wanted to let listeners know that all is well.  March has been one of the most intensely busy months I've weathered at work.  An entire week could pass without my computer even getting powered on.  I have, however, been able to record bits while driving that can be put together later.  April looks a lot more relaxed, and I'll have some time off to podcast.

I set a goal to read 100 comics in December.  One hundred comics in 30 days can be a challenge for a guy with a lot of hobbies and so little free time.  For those who might be curious, here's what I read:

1. Star Wars: Halloween Special 2009
2,3. Teen Titans#88, 90
4,5. The Thanos Imperative #5, 6
6-8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer #37-39
9. Captain America: Patriot #4 (one of my favorite minis of 2010)
10. Chaos War #1 (picked this up a couple months late to try it)
11. The Great Ten #1 (picked this up to try it much too late)
12. Firstwave #5
13. Superboy #2
14. Realm of Kings: Inhumans #1
15-18. Superman #703-706
19. Avengers Academy #7 (wanted to see the return of Giant-Man)
20. Deadpool #29 (had to see the return of Doctor Bong)
21, 22. Time Masters: Vanishing Point #1, 5
23. Atomic Robo: Deadly Art of Science #2
24. Adventure Comics #516
25. Fantastic Four #586
26. Secret Avengers #8 (they had me at Shang-Chi)
27. Chaos War: Dead Avengers #2
28. Green Arrow #3 (quarter bin buy)

The Cinematic Attic

This is a placeholder for the link to The Cinematic Attic: http://cinematicattic.libsyn.com/

There you will find all my movie-related podcasts and blog content.

The Cinematic Attic returns to its own page

That's right, folks.  I have revived the separate libsyn page for The Cinematic Attic.  Why?  As much as I didn't want to realize it, my interest in film has become almost equal to my interest in comics.  I have a lot of great ideas for new movie podcasts, youtube vids, and other content.  It just feels right for me to have a page devoted to lots of comic podcasts, a page for all the movie podcasts, and a page for a variety of other podcasts.  The trinity of Mike, if you will.

I am in the process of migrating all the Cinematic Attic content that was exclusive to The Attic of Babel page to its rightful home, http://cinematicattic.libsyn.com/  As the items are moved, I will be deleting them from The Attic of Babel page.

If all the content moving of the past year has confused and frustrated anyone, I apologize.  I think this will finally straighten it all out.

Today, August 11, marks the 4th anniversary of The Comic Book Attic's first posted episode.  I recorded a Comics on Wheels episode today; I'll post that as soon as I can spare the time.  Hope you're all enjoying today's new comics.
